Principal's Message

Welcome to Meyer Montessori!

Welcome to Meyer Montessori, a Montessori school community that nurtures and supports the development of the whole child.

It is my honor and privilege to be your Meyer Montessori principal! Individualizing learning experiences for our students and giving them the tools and strategies they need to be independent, critical thinkers is our main goal. I encourage you to read about our school and the many ways Meyer Montessori supports your child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Through guidance, assessment, and enrichment opportunities in our multi-age classroom communities, our Montessori trained teachers promote and motivate students to be self-led and self-paced. Our mission at Meyer is to nurture each student’s individual learning style by offering a multi-sensory approach to teaching and learning.

“Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world.”

– Dr. Maria Montessori

Our Children’s House (ages 3-6) focuses on building independence, focus, concentration, and initiative through interdisciplinary areas in the classroom: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Cultural Studies, and the Arts. Through these main areas, children are supported in learning meaningful, challenging, and purposeful work in a warm, safe, and welcoming environment.

Our Elementary Program (currently ages 6-10) integrates the “Five Great Lessons,” working from larger concepts to smaller ideas and concepts, learning how each fits into the larger framework as they explore the world around them. Students learn to question and think critically while playing an active and responsible role in their academic learning.

Parents are an essential part of our school. Families are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s educational journey. As a learning community, parents will learn alongside their child, supporting the child’s growth socially, developmentally, and academically.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning about our unique school. We are excited to partner with you as part of our Montessori learning community.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Sacco, M.Ed, Principal
